1996 yamaha blaster running sluggish?

i gotta blaster and it has trouble kick starting. ive been having to push start it to get it going it even seems to be running a lil sluggish too when im going. once i shut it off and go to kick start it again right afterwards it will fire right up. im thinking its a bad switch? could it be the carb?
